The Ceramic Chosen for Front Teeth
E-max is the brand name of a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic. It has become the material of choice for veneers and single crowns on front teeth because it lets light through in a way that reads as enamel, while still being strong enough for everyday biting at the front of the mouth.
This guide explains what E-max is, when a veneer is enough and when a crown is needed, how it compares with zirconia, and what it costs in Antalya compared with the UK.
The Material
What E-max Is
E-max restorations are pressed or milled from a single block of lithium disilicate, then stained and glazed to match your shade. They are bonded to the tooth with an adhesive cement rather than simply cemented — the bond itself is part of what makes a thin E-max veneer strong.
E-max veneer or E-max crown?
- A veneer covers the front surface of a tooth. Preparation is typically a few tenths of a millimetre of enamel. It suits healthy teeth whose shape, colour or small chips you want to change.
- A crown covers the whole visible tooth and needs more reduction all round. It suits teeth that are heavily filled, cracked or root-treated and need full coverage to survive.
The starting price is the same for both. What differs is how much of your own tooth is involved, which is why a sound tooth should usually get a veneer, not a crown. Our guide to veneers, crowns and bonding sets out the choice in more detail.

Ten E-max veneers therefore start around £3,500 and twenty around £7,000. Privately in the UK, ten porcelain or E-max veneers typically cost £8,000–£12,000. Any root canal treatment or gum treatment needed first appears as its own line on your plan.

E-max work is completed in a single trip. You see the shape and shade before anything is bonded, and you leave with the final restorations, not temporaries.

Teeth prepared under local anaesthetic, a digital scan taken and temporaries fitted the same day.

Try-in
Shape and shade checked in daylight before glazing, while changes are still possible.

Bonding
Final bonding, bite adjustment and polish, then a check the next morning before your airport transfer.

Airport transfer
We collect you from Antalya Airport in our own clinic vehicle and take you back at the end. No third-party shuttle, no extra charge.
All imaging
Panoramic X-ray and, where the plan needs it, CBCT 3D imaging. Taken in the clinic, included in the treatment price.
Medication
Anaesthetic, antibiotics and any post-operative medication you need during your stay.
Follow-up checks
Every review appointment during your visit, and remote follow-up by WhatsApp once you are home.

Our Written Guarantee
The implant itself carries a lifetime guarantee. Zirconia crowns and bridges, E-max crowns, porcelain veneers and Hollywood smile restorations carry a five-year guarantee against fracture and debonding under normal use; a fractured unit is remade at no cost for the restoration. You receive the guarantee in writing with your treatment documents. Travel and accommodation for a return visit are not included, and if you grind your teeth, wearing the night guard we provide is a condition of the guarantee.

What E-max Does Not Do
Worth knowing before you book
- Preparation is permanent. Even a thin veneer means enamel is removed, so the teeth will always need a covering, and veneers are eventually replaced. If bonding or whitening would do, we will say so.
- E-max does not whiten. The shade is fixed when the ceramic is made. Whitening your natural teeth first is usually the right order.
- Grinding shortens its life. If you grind, a night guard is part of the treatment and a condition of the guarantee — and molars are usually better in zirconia.
- Whiter is not always better. The brightest shades look artificial in daylight on many faces. Our Hollywood smile guide explains the trade-offs.
- Healthy gums come first. Veneers fitted to inflamed gums show at the margin within a couple of years. If your gums need treatment, we do that first.

Is E-max better than zirconia?
For front teeth it usually looks better, because E-max is more translucent. Zirconia is stronger, so it is the better choice for molars, bridges and people who grind. Many full-mouth plans use E-max at the front and zirconia at the back.

How long do E-max veneers last?
Ten to fifteen years or more is realistic with good hygiene, regular check-ups and a night guard if you grind. Our written five-year guarantee covers fracture and debonding under normal use.

Do E-max veneers damage your teeth?
A veneer needs a thin layer of enamel removed — typically a few tenths of a millimetre on the front surface — so the change is permanent and the veneers will need replacing one day. A crown removes considerably more. If bonding or whitening can achieve what you want, we will tell you.

Can E-max veneers be whitened?
No. Ceramic keeps the shade it is made in. If you want lighter teeth overall, whiten your natural teeth first and match the veneers to the new shade.
