From 9 to 20 November 2026, Antalya hosts COP31, the UN Climate Change Conference, at the Antalya EXPO Center in Aksu. Tens of thousands of delegates, observers, journalists and support staff will spend up to two weeks in the city, and a few of them will inevitably crack a tooth, lose a crown or wake up with toothache in the middle of the summit.
If that is you, you do not have to wait until you get home. Betadent is a licensed dental clinic in Kızıltoprak, in central Antalya, with an English-speaking team:
- Open Monday to Friday 09:00–22:00 and Saturday 09:00–15:00, so an appointment after the day’s sessions is usually possible.
- Urgent problems are seen as quickly as possible, usually the same day within opening hours. Send us a photo on WhatsApp first and we will tell you how soon to come.
- The clinic is about ten minutes from the airport, on the same eastern side of the city as the EXPO site, and easy to reach by taxi from Lara, Kaleiçi and Konyaaltı.

First Steps
What to Do in the First Hour
Most dental problems are uncomfortable rather than dangerous. These steps protect the tooth until you can be seen.

When to go to hospital instead
Call 112, Türkiye’s emergency number, or go to a hospital emergency department if facial swelling is spreading towards your eye or neck, if you have a high fever with the swelling, if swallowing or breathing is difficult, if bleeding will not stop after 20 minutes of firm pressure, or after a blow to the face or jaw with other injuries. These need a hospital first; the dental work can follow.
During Your Stay
What We Can Do While You Are in Antalya
A two-week conference is enough time to solve the problem properly, not just to mask the pain. What it is not the right moment for is treatment that needs months of healing.
Usually the same day
Examination and X-ray, pain relief, temporary fillings, re-cementing a crown that came off, treating an infected tooth, and removing a tooth that cannot be saved.
Within a few days
Permanent fillings, root canal treatment (often one or two visits), repairing a chipped front tooth with bonding, wisdom tooth removal when it is needed, and a professional clean.
Better planned for later
Implants, veneers and full-mouth work. They need more visits or months of healing. We give you a written summary and your X-rays so that you, or your dentist at home, can decide calmly.

Prevention
Avoiding Dental Trouble During a Busy Summit
Long days, irregular meals, lots of coffee and little sleep are hard on teeth. A few habits help:
- Pack your night guard if you have one. Stress makes clenching worse, and clenching is a common reason for cracked teeth and broken fillings.
- Do not use your teeth as tools. Opening packaging or badge holders with your teeth, and chewing ice or hard nuts, break more teeth than anything else.
- Drink water between coffees, and rinse after sugary snacks if you cannot brush.
- Keep a small kit in your bag: painkillers you know you tolerate, floss, orthodontic wax if you wear braces, and a pharmacy temporary filling kit.
And if you were already planning treatment such as whitening or a check-up, a quiet day before or after the conference is a better time than the middle of it.

- Does my EHIC or GHIC cover dental treatment in Türkiye?
No. The EHIC and the UK GHIC are not valid in Türkiye. Check your travel insurance instead, and keep an itemised receipt and treatment note for your claim.
- Can I combine my COP31 trip with planned dental treatment?
Short treatments such as a check-up, cleaning, fillings, whitening or bonding fit easily into a stay of a few days. Implants and veneers need more visits or months of healing, so we would plan them separately after an examination.
- Is Betadent connected to COP31?
